You want to configure your first usage-based plan and assigning a subscription to a customer in order to test Hyperline, but you don’t have technical skills or want to go as quick as possible? Then this guide is for you. In the sandbox environment we allow you to simulate usage data with fake events for a specific customer in 2 steps.
  1. Go to one of your customer, Events tab, and click on the “Simulate new events” button.
  2. Fill the Event type field with the event name used to aggregate usage in your billing plan configuration, the date and number of events to create, and optionally add extra parameters to your event with the JSON Payload field, and click on the “Create new events” button.
The events can take a few seconds to be ingested, and you will see them in your customer’s Events page. Don’t worry, you can easily delete them in the Events page afterwards. Additionally, you can see your customer’s subscription usage details and next payment amount updated in the Subscription tab, and check the open invoice - the next invoice to be charged at the end of the billing period - in the Invoices tab (can take a few minutes to appear). That’s it! 🎉 You can now create your first usage-based plan based on these events.
